    Warhammer 40K Campaign

Post by Ironshot on Tue Jan 18, 2011 10:26 pm

Villain has the right of it - the only way we're going to get this thing off the ground is to just do it. Those of you who are interested - and by "interested" I mean available to finish their game turns within 2 weeks - let's meet at PH this Saturday (22 Jan), 11:00, and get the first turn rolling.

Respond here to let me know you're in, and what army you'll be using. I'll have the map ready, we'll roll to determine the order of picking initial locations, chosing events and making challenges for the first turn. The first turn's battles will be Planetstrike, so bring an Attacker and a Defender list at 2000 pts and at 3000 pts (that's 4 lists) to face all comers (since you won't know until that day who you're facing). If you can't make 3K, just bring 2K lists. If you end up being the Challenged player and you want to go lower than 2K, just trim down the 2K list.

If you really want to be in, but can't make Saturday because you have the duty or something similar, I or someone of your choice will proxy the setup for you.

I will post tonight as to whether or not I can make it this Saturday. My mom decided to pick up all the Friday night shifts this month instead of just every other one. So I am not sure if she is going to be up for taking my daughter on Saturday.

Lord knows I'm in. Imperial Guard inbound.
I'll have to duck out at like 2 for about an hour but will be back after that. Smile

How long is this campaign supposed to last?

I will show up with the required lists to play if needed and yes it will be bugs. My only problem is that recently I just realized that I have become "that guy". I would prefer not to play unless needed until I start painting and finishing units in my army. So I will only join if there is an odd number of players for the campaign.

Oops forgot there are some new people here that don't know everyone.

I have been in the hobby for 6yrs and I dont even have a fully painted army. My army consists of unpainted, primed and partialy painted model

Hope that clears it up some.

Campaign length, hmmm - how about 7 turns: Planetstrike, 5 regular game rounds, and finish with Apocalypse.

As for painting - your choice, but I wouldn't worry about it, Villain. With the exception of Grim Skraga, I don't think anyone in our group has a fully painted army, myself included.

By the way, I've gone back and done some proofreading of the rules, and found that there were a few things I missed the first time around. What can I say, it was late, I was tired, the puppy was pestering me, and I was trying to watch the latest epsiode of "Cheaters". I'll be sending all of you a revised copy either tonight or tomorrow evening.

Oh, a little more info on the availability of game tables at Fan-Quest. The Wednesday minis crowd is a little light, so definitely one game, maybe two. And the Anime club meets every other Thursday, so the off weeks would be wide open for us.

My dudes are all painted at this point Smile
But I'm a bit obsessive about painting and terrain. I think I like that part of 40k more than anything lol

I discovered I could provide a bit more than 3k points, so however many points of vanilla marines needed are ready to show you the blunt side of a drop pod.

My main problem is that I need to start painting again. Well I made my lists for the game(s) Sat, it will be interesting to say the least.

I have 2 bastions, aegis defence lines, 4 buildings and a landing pad that can be used.

I have the unassembled pieces from the Fortress of Damnation, plus that bunker piece that could serve as a bastion. Also have an Aegis defence line somewhere around here.

Well, for what its worth (and judging by recent history, that's "not much"), I'll stop in tomorrow and see what they say.

Just let me know what army you want to use. Just not Daemons, 'cause their mine, Mine, MINE!!! MY....PRECIOUS!!

Wasn't thinking teams Hobb - more like cutthroat. Doesn't mean we couldn't do something like that, if everyone else would like it.
